Restaurants in LondonIf you are dining out in London then this selection of our favourite London tour restaurants may be appetising: Note to tour parties: The listings below are merely suggestions based on previous tour party recommendations.
Note to restrauteurs: If you wish your eatery to be listed here please arrange for us to sample your menu and hospitality. Contact British Restaurants in LondonSmiths of SmithfieldThe name gives away its location and, being next door to London's meat market, it does have a reputation for steaks. There are three levels to this operation - prices rise as you move from the lower to the upper floor. The top floor restaurant has a great view over the market and is worth visiting for food other than steaks - desserts in particular are quietly impressive. Go top floor if you can afford it, but there is nothing wrong with starting at the bottom and working your way up on successive visits! Modern European Restaurants in LondonIndigo, 1 AldwychA stylish little restaurant, located on the mezzanine level of a boutique hotel, formerly a bank, looking over a very relaxed and chic bar area - great for people watching. Service is friendly and attentive and the cooking is worth the money you pay, with the recent emphasis being on British food and wine. French Restaurants in LondonMirabelles, MayfairA Marco Pierre White restaurant with quite a reputation to live up to. This is somewhere to go if you want to experience really good service in a high class establishment. The décor is restrained, but the wine list is not, with a separate listing just for the famous Chateau d'Yquem wine, with vintages stretching back to the mid nineteenth century (check your bank balance before arriving); the 'ordinary' wine list is also good and the food isn't bad either. |
